Hola! My name is Karla Medina...
I am a visual development artist and aspiring art educator with a background in animation, storytelling, and collaborative leadership. I hold a BFA in Animation with a minor in Storyboarding and Drawing from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I graduated Magna Cum Laude.

My creative practice centers on character-driven storytelling, visual problem-solving, and intentional design. Through my work as an Art Director and Producer on SCAD’s capstone film Kirilo, I led a team of 17 student artists, developed visual style guides and color scripts, and guided peers through structured feedback and collaborative workflows — experiences that shaped my interest in teaching and mentorship.

Influenced by my Dominican and Puerto Rican roots, I am passionate about culturally responsive art education that encourages students to explore identity, creativity, and meaning through visual expression. I believe art classrooms should be joyful, structured environments where curiosity, discipline, and imagination work together to help students grow academically and personally.

My goal is to bring professional artistic practices into the classroom in developmentally appropriate ways, helping students build confidence, critical thinking, and a lifelong appreciation for beauty and storytelling. I am currently pursuing opportunities in K-12 art education and graduate training in teaching.

I am always open to collaboration and learning opportunities and can be reached at karlamedinafadul@gmail.com
